Our Client is a leader in Advanced Business Technologies located in Medicine Hat, Alberta. They specialize in business phones, computer solutions, cabling and installation. They are part of the Bell and Telus networks. Their connection to Bell and Telus is through the business sector and is to connect lines, run cable, and repair their phone systems as in office telephones (like in banks, schools and office buildings). They do not deal with Cell PhonesJ

They are currently looking for a Communications Technician to work out of their Medicine Hat Office.

The ideal candidate will be able to Install, troubleshoot, and repair business phone systems as well as sound systems. Provide cable and terminations for data and voice communications.

If you have done actual repair and installation in a variety of manufacturer Business Phone Systems....this will help you greatly succeed! With a minimum of a high school diploma and your certified cable and phone system technician background you will be a great asset to our client's team.

We are looking for you to have the following qualifications:

•          Ability to install, program and troubleshoot standard telephone and voicemail systems (Nortel system is a     must and NEC system would be beneficial)

•          Ability to install, program and troubleshoot VoIP telephone systems

•          Familiarity with phone systems - to be able to work proficiently on any system with minimal information

•          Ability to work with digital Centrex equipment

•          Familiarity with and able to install cable track and trays

•          Ability to communicate efficiently to make technical information understandable to non technical customers

•          Public speaking ability to perform customer training

•          Ability to run, terminate and test copper communication cables and fibre optics with a willingness to become certified

•          Ability to keep organized records and do proper labeling to identify cabling

•          Ability to install test and troubleshoot sound system hardware and cabling

•          Ability to recognize and work with hardware in the Telco central office to complete assigned tasks

•          Ability to follow instructions to complete paperwork, testing and sub contract sign offs properly

•          Capable of reading and working off of a blueprint

•          Knowledge of proper ways to carry and use ladders

•          Ability to work in confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics, small closets) and in elevated locations (up a ladder, rooftops)

•          Must be familiar with and utilize safety equipment and safe work practices

•          Ability to adjust to unexpected situations in a calm and logical manner
